How long I’ve been running: I started running in grad school about 10 years ago as a way to reduce some stress! It then spiraled from there and now it has turned into my entire personality
Favorite kind of training run: Long runs with good company and a post-run treat (aka - Sweet Katie Bee’s Strawberry Poptarts iykyk)! I ran 99% of my training runs alone until last year and let me tell you, nothing is better than a long run with friends!
Favorite Race: Anything by the beach - Hello Surf City Marathon in Huntington Beach, CA. You can’t beat the views, the vibes, and the temperatures!
How long I’ve been running: I was only bit by the bug three years ago. I’ve always been somewhat athletic but hated running. It wasn’t until I followed my first training plan that had me running significantly slower than I normally did that I realized running doesn’t have to be miserable and slower is better! I ran my first 5k in July of 2022 and have been hooked ever since!
Favorite kind of training run: I live for my long runs! I grab some gels and water, put a pod cast on, and it’s just me and the road for miles. I look forward to it every week.
Favorite Race: I’m a sucker for small, local races and even though it has grown the past few years, I love the Belleville Main Street Half Marathon. The support and energy along the course is fantastic for its size and the post-race refreshments are generous, just good vibes all around. It’s a must-do on my race calendar every year.
